MLB Pennant Predictions

It's a pleasure to be so wrong. I last predicted which teams would make it to the Championship Series round (pennant) and was 25% accurate. A couple of things to note. One, my opinion is just an opinion. Two, Go Yankees! We have the matchup in the making that the MLB wants if the Dodgers and Yankees take care of business. Let's take a look.

ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians

This series opens tonight in New York, and I just didn't think my team would make it. They were facing a keen pitching staff in the Royals and the bats were stone cold. Enter Giancarlo Stanton. He probably heard Bob Costas refer to him as past his prime and decided to take matters into his own hands. Thank God he did.

The Guardians (hate the name) were taken to the brink by a surprise Detroit Tigers team but closed it after a grand slam by Lane Thomas put the game away. I was pulling for the Tigers, but here we are. Prediction: Yankees in 7 games

NLCS: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets

Game one is in the books and the Mets must be concerned. Winning their series a little early seems to have put a damper on the momentum. If they could have continued their winning ways by snatching game one in LA, then I would be more of a believer.

The Dodgers are the team to beat. Putting that in print hurts my heart, but it's true. Ohtani is the best hitter in the game and the lineup has too much firepower for the Mets to hope for a pitching duel. They better score and score a lot. By the time this day ends, the Dodgers could be up 2-0 in the series and what wind the Mets had in their sails will be gone. Prediction: Dodgers in 5 games

If the MLB has its way, there will be a Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series. I hope they get their way.

Go Yankees!
